As the clock strikes closer to 11 AM, many wonder if Verizon will be unveiling it’s CDMA version of Apple’s iPhone 4. Just as many wonder whether or not Steve Jobs will grace the Lincoln Center in New York City with his presence.

Well the first wonder has pretty much been confirmed, but it’s not sure whether Uncle Steve will show. What we do know is that MANY Verizon customers have been waiting for the iPhone to head over to the red check mark. But what exactly does this mean for Verizons’ competitors? It means that Verizon could very well draw customers from Sprint and various smaller CDMA service providers. But this could also mean that hackers could create the possibility to use the CDMA iPhone on other networks using the same radio band.

All in all, AT&T better watch out. It could lose customers as they’re gearing up to start their own 4G service to speed up its aging network.

We’ll keep you updated on what we find out from the press event. Notice the date and time Verizon picked? (1/11/11 at 11AM, magical date and time? Only Verizon can tell.)
