Well I’ve been waiting ages for an Android app that allows remote access to my computers at home while I’m away. While I continue to wait on TeamViewers’ promised app, I have found a very promising replacement. I introduce to you LogMeIn Ignition for Android.
LogMeIn running on an HTC EVO 4G
At first view of the app on my Nexus One similar to the picture above, it is rather easy on the eyes with a blue theme. When first opened you are presented with a log in screen. NOTE: You will need to sign up for a free or paid account on the LogMeIn website. You will also need to install the desktop client for each PC you will be using LogMeIn for (also available from the website for FREE.) After logging in, you will be presented with a list of PCs that you have installed the desktop client on.
Once You pick a computer to remotely operate, you are able to zoom in and out of the desktop, operate the mouse using either the right or left mouse buttons, operate the keyboard and many other options. It really is quite easy to use the app. Nothing to fidget with to get things working right. It really is an IT’s dream come true.
Price: $29.99 for the app (may cost more money depending on which account you sign up for on the website.)
NOTE: LogMeIn is also available for the iPhone and iPad. LogMeIn can also be used on PCs for remote access to other PCs
