Twitter Digest

Twitter Digest

The folks over at Summify have been a little busy since they were snapped up by Twitter in January. According to an email sent out to Summify subscribers, the company is being shutdown in order to focus on Twitter, namely the coming weekly email digests. But dispare not Summify users. You have until June 22 to use your accounts to your hearts content until the service shuts down. Then you will automatically start receiving the email digests just for being a Summify user.

Want to know more about the future of Summify? Check out the email sent out to Summify subscribers in its entirety:

About four months ago Summify was acquired by Twitter and our team joined the flock. It was a very exciting moment for us and since then we’ve been working on ways to make it easier for you to discover what matters to you on Twitter. For example, last week we announced a Twitter email digest delivered to your inbox.

We are going to focus our efforts on making Twitter even more engaging and useful for you. While we can’t get into details on what’s to come, we can say that we’re excited and we think you will be too.

What now?

Since we’ll be focusing our efforts on projects at Twitter, we have decided to shut down Summify onJune 22nd, 2012. On that date, you will no longer be able to access your digests or profile information, all of which will be deleted.

What’s next?

If you have a Twitter account connected to Summify and you are subscribed to the email summary, you don’t need to do anything. Everyone with a Twitter account who is subscribed to the Summify digest will begin to receive the new Twitter email digest by June 22nd, 2012.

Currently, the Twitter digest is sent to users on a weekly basis. To allow for a smooth transition for you and other Summify users with a Twitter account, we will be sending the Twitter digest to Summify users on a daily basis.

What if I don’t have a Twitter account?

The Twitter digest doesn’t support stories from Facebook or Google Reader. The best way to continue receiving our new digests of Tweets and stories is to sign up for Twitter.

Thanks for all your enthusiasm and support for Summify. We’re excited to continue building an even more compelling Twitter experience for you!

Sincerely,
The Summify Team
