On April 3, 2010 the US experienced the release of the first iPad. As we reported 2 years ago, the iPad was 9.7 inches long and weighed 1.5 pounds. Over 300,000 iPads were sold on the first day in the US alone.

Steve Jobs introduced the iPad in a “sold-out” Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. One of his firsts comments about the iPad was,

“We want to kick off 2010 with a truly revolutionary and magical product”

Though the starting price for the latest generation of the iPad has not changed there have been many changes over the course of the 3 generations. From the 1st generation to the 2nd users experienced a higher resolution screen, included camera, less weight, smaller frame and Apple’s A5 chip. From 2nd to 3rd generation Apple claimed they brought things to a whole new level. With now “more pixels than a HD TV”, A5X Chip, increased camera quality and the continued ability to have internet access through WIFI or wireless carriers. The iPad truly is one of Apple’s mosts distinguished and long lasting products.

“Every once in awhile a revolutionary product comes along that changes everything.” – Steve Jobs
