Microsoft released the OneDrive UWP app for Windows 10 PCs and tablets yesterday. I take a look at the app and compare it to the app we had for Windows 10 Mobile for months. How does it compare? Hint: it’s the same app!

My understanding is that this is the same binary that runs on the PC and the mobile. This app has no understanding of the desktop sync client. This is exactly what I have expected. I even wrote a post about how the UWP would work, and my predictions were 100 percent accurate.
