Jewish Calendar App arrives in the Store

Yesterday saw the first Holy Quran App in the store joining the existing four Bible Apps. Today we are happy to announce the arrival of the first Jewish Faith App: “Jewish Calendar”. Though I am a Christian, I will not even pretend to understand all the intricacies of the Jewish Calendar not to talk of the Faith itself. I am just glad for my Jewish friends that they also have something in the Store. Hopefully we will see more of this kind of apps to complement what is already in the Store.

The Holy Quran App is in the Store

For our Muslim friends this is something to rejoice about. We already have about 4 or 5 Bible Apps in the Store, so I guess it’s about time we saw apps from other religions too. Therefore, I am happy to announce that the first Quran app has dropped in the store. Titled “Holy Quran”, the app is a reference source for Muslims around the world, and features both Arabic and English transliterated scripts. On the surface the App looks thoroughly thought out, but until its installed, its difficult to judge its feature. Since I don’t speak arabic, I will not be the right person to judge the app quality. We can only peruse what the vendors says about the app, reproduced here below from the store:

Bible Pronto App now available in Windows 8 Store

So there I was thinking I was completed by the availability of OliveTree Bible App in the store. Combined with the YouVersion Bible App you would have thought it couldn’t get better than this, in drops the Bible Pronto app to add another dimension to the Bible experience on the Windows 8 Metro platform. Bible Pronto allows annotation and highlighting of the bible verses, a feature that is currently missing on both aforementioned apps. You can find Bible Pronto in the Reference section. Letup: The app is ONLY available on the Intel devices! Sorry for those of you on ARM devices, hopefully they’ll still port to ARM before Windows 8 goes gold.

Try the app, and let me know what you think. You can find in the store by search, or because most of the apps I mention in this blog are so hot new, they are not yet visible by just browsing the Store. So you can just use the following link:
