“Ladies and Gentlemen, we got him!” The elusive Tweetro App is back in the Store as Tweetro+. You have to have been living under a rock to have missed the whole shebang over Tweetro and Twitter these past weeks. Yeah, Tweetro got too popular for Twitter so they had to cut it down to size by reducing its tokens to 100K. Our buddy at WindowsObservers.com carried the whole story. You can peruse the whole details there.
So now Tweetro is back as paid App, because Twitter wants in on the piece of the Pie of course. But at $10.00? I find that rather steep for an unofficial Twitter client. You have to bear in mind that Twitter itself is creating its own client as we speak, and it will eventually compete with Tweetro+ whenever they released it. And there is the possibility, even more probable that Twitter’s own client will be free in the Store as it will be a joint effort between Microsoft and Twitter. So Lazyworm may be pricing Tweetro out of the market, and that will be very sad as this is a good Twitter client. Curious here to see how this all will play out.
For the new-old App itself, I am taking a very close look at the description and screenshots, I can’t see any thundering differentiating feature as far as I can see. Of course its polished and professional and all now, but it doesn’t diverge much from what we’ve already seen in its Free incarnation. Following is the description of the paid version in the Store:
Tweetro+ is an elegant Twitter client for Windows 8 and regarded by many as the best Twitter experience on the platform.
Included in purchase:
– Exclusive access to Tweetro+ (limited number of installs)
– 2 Twitter account slots (you can add up to 5 via in-app purchase)
DISCLAIMER: We cannot guarantee that this app will continue to function in the same way that it does in its purchased state (subject to any changes in Twitter’s API, rules and regulations).
Real-time streaming of tweets (timeline & search results)
Pin multiple tweet columns to main hub
Custom views (snapped, portrait, landscape)
Semantic zoom for bird’s eye view
Multiple account support
So, there it is, the much awaited Twitter Client is back. Question is will you take the bait? What do you think about the price. Let me know in the Comments. Note there is no Trial mode, you buy this or you don’t, so I assume most of you that knows the app wouldn’t mind to buy without trial. But for new users? I think they should have added a Trial mode. Anyway, download the app now via the Source Link below.
